The Language of Horses
Learn to listen to horses without words.
Service Description
Horses are constantly communicating with us—we just have to learn how to listen. In this hands-on class, kids will discover how horses use their ears, eyes, facial expressions, posture, movement, and other body language to communicate. We'll explore the difference between a relaxed horse and one who may be nervous, uncomfortable, or unsure. Students will spend time observing the horses and practicing their ability to recognize what a horse may be communicating. We'll also look at how our own body language, energy, and actions can affect the way a horse responds to us. This class introduces kids to a different way of thinking about horses: instead of simply asking, "What do I want the horse to do?", we also learn to ask, "What is the horse telling me?" Ages:6+ Length: 2 hours Riding: None Cost: $45 per student Additional siblings: $40 each Weather & Cancellation Policy The majority of this class will be held outside with the horses, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Warm layers, weather-appropriate clothing, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are recommended. Classes will be held outdoors in most weather conditions. Class fees are non-refundable for cancellations. If severe or unsafe weather makes it necessary to cancel or reschedule the class, Soulstice Stables will notify families as soon as possible and provide information about the rescheduled date.
