The Language of Horses
Learn to listen to horses without words.
Service Description
Horses are constantly communicating with us—we just have to learn how to listen. In this hands-on class, kids will discover how horses use their ears, eyes, facial expressions, posture, movement, and other body language to communicate. We'll learn to recognize signs of relaxation, curiosity, discomfort, tension, and other emotions and responses. Students will spend time observing the horses and practicing their ability to "read" what a horse may be saying. We'll also explore how our own body language and actions can affect the way a horse responds to us. This class introduces kids to the idea that good horsemanship begins with understanding and communication, not simply telling a horse what to do. Ages: 6+ Length: 2 hours Riding: None Cost: $45 per student Additional siblings: $40 each Weather & Cancellation Policy The majority of this class will be held **outside with the horses**, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are recommended. Layers are encouraged, especially during the cooler months. Classes will be held outdoors in most weather conditions, so please come prepared for the forecast. **Class fees are non-refundable for cancellations.** If severe or unsafe weather makes it necessary to cancel or reschedule the class, Soulstice Stables will notify families as soon as possible and provide information about the rescheduled date.
